gTunnel

gTunnel is my attempt at a configurable and well-integrated SSH tunnel manager for GNOME. Almost all SSH tunnel managers I've come across have either been abandoned half-finished, stored passwords insecurely, or are just fiddly to use. I'm aiming to create a simple powerful tool that stays out of the way but lets you configure useful encrypted tunnels over SSH with the minimum of effort. Features

  • Straight-forward and easy to use
  • Integrates with GNOME keyring - no need to worry about gTunnel storing your passwords insecurely

Roadmap

There's a lot of stuff I'd like to get into gTunnel, and here's some of it…

  • On-the-fly tunnel editing - add, change and remove tunnels without stopping the connection
  • Using SSH identity keys if available and specified in the user's SSH configuration
  • A tray icon which the application can minimise to

Screenshots

As there is nothing to release yet, you'll have to make do with a preview screenshot!
